Much of the success of the incredible movement of the Gospel found in the New Testament church was that followers of Jesus were living life together in community. Acts 2 describes the new believers meeting with one another day to day in their homes and at the temple. They shared things in common, broke bread together, and gathered around God’s Word with regularity.
Connection Groups (CGs) are intended to imitate what we see those early believers doing in Scripture. A CG is an extended spiritual family on mission together, seeking to bring the grace and love of Jesus into homes, coffee shops, gyms, parks, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Instead of waiting around for people to walk in for a worship service CGs take Jesus to people.
